This year’s Intermot fair saw the unveiling of five new models from Triumph, pleasing fans across the board. Read on for the top two niche releases in celebration of Triumph’s proudest moments. They’ll be hitting UK shores by the end of 2014 (first stop, Fowlers!).
The first machine to reach the public is the Bonneville T214 Land Speed Limited Edition, of which just 80 are set to arrive in the UK this month. This T100 model is a nod to the 100-year anniversary of land speed setting at Bonneville Salt Flats. More specifically, the bike revives the memory of the record smashed by Johnny Allen on a Triumph-powered streamliner. The Texas-born racer reached an unprecedented 214.4 mph (hence the model’s title) in 1956.
Allen’s success is celebrated in 2014 with a Caspian Blue/Pure White colour scheme to echo his victory motor. It’s all in the detail: the original streamliner’s white star motif is replicated on the T214 front mudguard, while a smaller front headlight and red seat stitching add to the bike’s authenticity.
Next to hit the market is the café racer style Thruxton Ace. This particular model, adorned with London’s Ace Café logos, is a celebration of Triumph’s long-standing relationship with the legendary biker watering hole. The Thruxton Ace was unveiled at the café in September, showcasing its unique handlebar plaque and oxblood custom seat. One of these slick limited edition models could be yours from December.
The Bonneville T214 Land Speed Limited Edition and Thruxton Ace are the ones to watch from Triumph as we near the end of 2014. Even better, they’ll be available here at Fowlers! For news of the Triumph models to be released in 2015, check back – all is soon to be revealed.
