Guy Martin to ride Hailwood’s Honda at Fowlers-sponsored Grand National

Join Guy Martin and a host of other stars who will be riding at Castle Combe to celebrate sixty years since the legendary Mike Hailwood first raced at the Wiltshire circuit.

Guy will be on track on Sunday as one of the many attractions during the Fowler-sponsored Grand National over the weekend of 8th and 9th July 2017.

Guy will be riding ‘Mike the Bike’s’ 297cc Honda RC167 as part of the popular Classic Parade, which features historic and exotic machinery from the 1950s to the 1970s, including bikes from MV, Triumph, Norton, Honda, MZ, Ducati, BSA and Yamaha.

John McGuinness will be bringing three of his iconic machines to display – the 250cc Vimto Honda, his 130mph lap-record setting Honda Fireblade and the exotic Mugen, which he took to victory in the 2015 TT Zero race.

You’ll get to see plenty of on-track action too, with feature races on both Saturday and Sunday. There’s a huge variety, from the British 125cc & 250cc Championships to the Super Twins, Sound of Thunder and Powerbike classes, plus the Bonham’s British Historic Championships and the King of Castle Combe open class.

Fowlers will be joining the celebrations throughout the weekend, bringing the latest models from Triumph, Honda and Yamaha for you to see up close. Our team will be on-hand to answer your questions.

Yamaha announce new Motocross and Enduro models for 2018

Yamaha today unveiled their all-new electric start YZ450F, featuring the world’s first smartphone tuning app on a production motocross bike. Powered by a new reverse-head engine, this completely restyled YZ450F gives Yamaha riders the power to discover their real potential. Equipped with the latest cutting edge technology, and delivering outstanding engine power and agile chassis performance, the new YZ450F represents the start of a whole new era of advanced racing technology in which the rider feels at one with their machine, and where trackside fine-tuning can be done quickly and easily using the touch screen of a smartphone, with the Yamaha Power tuner app. The YZ450F also sports a new, redesigned engine, slimline bodywork and a lightweight electric start.

Yamaha also unveiled two limited edition WR450F and WR250F EnduroGP models to complement the company’s current off road competition line up. These specially-developed enduro race bikes are inspired by the Outsiders Yamaha Official Enduro Team factory machine, that took Loïc Larrieu to 3rd overall in the 2016 E2 World Enduro Championship, and secured an EnduroGP class victory at the 2017 EnduroGP of Italy. Based on Yamaha’s standard WR models, these limited edition bikes include a number of exclusive upgrades (Akrapovic slip-on muffler, graphics kit, optimised ECU mapping and Acerbis tri-fit handguards).

For further details and availability on any of these bikes, please get in touch with the Fowlers Off-Road Team on 0117 977 0466, or contact us here.
