Yamaha Dark Side Tour Comes To Motorcycle Live

Yamaha Dark Side MT TourThe popular ‘Dark Side MT Tour’ will add one more stop to its 2014 schedule: next stop, Motorcycle Live at the Birmingham NEC.

The MT Tour has already given riders across the country the chance to discover their ‘Dark Side’ by trying out a Yamaha MT bike for themselves. The summer events included stunt shows, an Extreme Wheelie machine and even a new rider MT experience with both an MT-125 and restricted A2 compliant MT-07.

The appearance of the MT Tour at Motorcycle Live, running from 22-30 November, brings a new dimension to this year’s premier event.

The giant MT Tour truck will take centre stage, showcasing a collection of MT clothing and accessories. An array of accessorised MT Tour bikes will also be on display along with the Dave Coates MT-09 stunt bike, which comes straight to the event from its last show.

The most popular attraction, however, is sure to be the fleet of MT-09, MT-09 Street Rally and MT-07 demo bikes. The collection will be available for riders to enjoy on an escorted test ride. Following the huge number of awards the MT range has received this year, these demo bikes promise to be a popular addition to the Motorcycle Live line-up.

Bookings for the test rides can only be made on the MT Tour truck on the day. Avoid missing out: head straight to the Yamaha stand on arrival to secure your place.MT Tour 1

Details of the additional MT Tour dates and requirements for test rides are available at the Yamaha MT Tour page.

Honda Race Replica Hits Fowlers!

It’s been a stellar year for Honda in the Supersport World Championship – and what better way to celebrate the brand’s success with a replica of the winning bike?

After winning the 2012 European Championship on a CBR 600 RR, this year Michael van der Mark topped that performance with the same model on a worldwide scale.

Van der Mark’s achievement is big news for Honda and his team, Pata Honda, with their reputation in the supersport category going from strength to strength.

It seemed appropriate, then, to give a nod to the team’s win with not one, but two Honda CBR 600 RR bikes in Pata Honda racing colours. These powerful machines are available to view in the Fowlers Honda showroom now.

On top of their stunning paintwork, the bikes will come fitted with a Carbon Silencer and tail tidy. In short, there’s never been a better time to check out our Honda range.

Public Access to Factory Feel: Meet the 2015 Yamaha WR250F

Yamaha WR250F Enduro

2014 has seen Yamaha’s profile raised to the next level in the world of dirt biking. Successes include the FIM Women’s World Championship and AMA MX250 outdoor championship, to name just a couple of wins.

In the light of Yamaha’s golden performance, the brand is ready to unleash the 2015 WR250F. With high hopes for its chances of winning at the highest level next season, Yamaha means business.

Its engine is perhaps the biggest selling point. Based on the race-winning motocross YZ250F, the new WR250F is the first enduro machine to feature the famous Yamaha ‘rearward-inclined cylinder with reverse cylinder head’ engine. It is considerably more powerful than the former engine, giving a more thrilling ride through every rev range.

The engine’s character can be adjusted using the Power Tuner for top control over fuel injection and ignition timing settings. The Tuner plugs in directly without the need for a laptop, a feature previously only available to factory teams and therefore scoring points for competitiveness.

Separate air and oil chambers are responsible for the WR250F’s light and agile handling. The bike has a more stable damping force, which in turn results in good front wheel tracking characteristics and excellent feedback from the front end. The fuel tank is positioned in the centre of the bike, centralising the overall mass. Better yet, the tank’s positioning allows for a long seat so that the rider can shift their body weight quickly & easily. Yamaha WR250F Enduro

The WR250F’s 6 speed settings handle a wide variety of terrain: from technical rock climbs to full-throttle stretches along forest tracks, this bike takes it all in its stride. Its special enduro clutch matches the extreme demands of enduro riding to give consistent performance under the toughest conditions.

The combination of minimal bodywork and rear shock design inspired by the YZ250F mean that the WR250F has the look and feel of a factory race bike. Sold with Metzeler 6 Days Extreme enduro pattern tyres, the machine is ready to race right away.

The Yamaha WR250F is available in the Competition Blue colour scheme, from February 2015.

Yamaha YZF-R3 2015 Bridges the Gap

2015YZFR3Thanks to the new A2-class licensing system, Yamaha has come up with the perfect R-series pedigree for new riders.

The new YZF-R3 supersport model ensures that Yamaha sets the standard on the international racing scale. The R3 is a lightweight bike for everyday use and comes with ABS as standard. Filling the gap between the R125 and R6, the R3 is an ideal step-up model for newer and graduating riders.

The machine’s all-new 321cc inline twin cylinder engine uses advanced technology from Yamaha’s larger capacity supersport bikes, without losing the ability to ride well at lower speeds. The bike is responsive and retains a predictable handling character, thanks to its evenly-balanced weight and longer swingarm.

For the environmentally-conscious among us, the YZF-R3 benefits from the latest combustion analysis technology to promise good fuel economy. Its lightweight DiaSil cylinder minimises oil consumption and gives superb heat dissipation while simultaneously reducing horsepower losses. Yamaha YZF-R3

Substance is accompanied by cutting-edge style, of course. This bike boasts aggressive twin headlight fairing to match its supersport sibling, the YZF-R6, and its aerodynamic design gives the illusion of a forceful mass-forward silhouette. The R series welcomes a new Race Blu colour scheme, inspired by the Yamaha YZR-M1 MotoGP-winning machines.

At just 169kg net weight, the R3’s lightweight chassis is the ideal choice for newer riders looking for a genuine, purpose-built R-series model that doesn’t let up on practical performance. Tailored to urban and highway situations, this bike is the everyday solution for the less experienced. It reaches the UK in April 2015.

Meanwhile, the YZF-R1 is due a radical update. Yamaha promises that “everything has changed except the name”. More news on this exciting development next month!
