The pop star who stormed the UK and US charts with his number 1 hit single Break Your Heart, took time out from filming the video for his latest single, Dynamite, to enjoy a training session with Brands Hatch Yamaha.

Cruz was taking advantage of the Get On campaign’s free one hour experience session which is available to anyone over the age of 16 and is designed to give a taster of life on two wheels without having to make any commitment. Sessions can be booked at www.geton.co.uk which also provides a one-stop shop of information on how to get into biking.

Cruz, whose latest single was Dirty Picture featuring US star Kesha, jetted in from LA where he had been filming Dynamite to take his experience session with Get On. While Dynamite is due to be released on August 23 and will have its first preview on T4 next month, Cruz is looking to combine his busy schedule and take to life of two wheels over the summer.

Cruz, who has also written songs for Cheryl Cole’s album 3 Words and JLS said, “Biking is so cool. I’m known for having fast cars in my videos but I love bikes too. It’s been an incredibly busy year for me but I’m keen to take my test so I can enjoy the huge thrill of being on two wheels. I love the Yamaha R1 and would love to be riding that one day.”

Cruz joins Channel 5 television presenter Suzi Perry in backing the Get On campaign and NMW, which provides the perfect opportunity for people book a free one-hour taster session. As well as encouraging new riders NMW also encourages existing and lapsed bikers to get out and about on their bikes and encourage their friends to give biking a go.

As an added incentive during July, Get On are running a prize promotion which allows any biker who introduces a friend at a Get On dealer the chance to win a huge range of prizes including biking holidays, Weise kit, Arai helmets and Pirelli tyres. Non-bikers won't miss out either as they will be entered into the draw for iPads, iPod nanos and digital cameras. The competition can be entered at one of 450 participating Get On dealers across the country which can be located on the website www.geton.co.uk

Ride to Work Day (21 July) is also part of the event and the aim is to promote the fact that as well as an enjoyable leisure pursuit, riding a bike or scooter has many practical benefits with powered two-wheelers helping to reduce congestion, reduce journey times, reduce pollution and reduce the cost of commuting.

Those looking to see how much saving two wheels offers can do so my using the ingenious travel savings calculator on www.geton.co.uk. Users can type in their normal travel details and the calculator will tell you the savings you can make on fuel, insurance, tax and parking.

Anyone can get involved in National Motorcycle Week and people who are interested in running their own events can think about planning a bikers BBQ, a local charity fundraiser, getting some extra training or going on a group ride – out to celebrate all that is positive about life on two-wheels.
