TomTom’s smartphone-connected VIO satnav is now available in a version specifically designed for use on the current range of Piaggio and Vespa scooters.
The VIO’s weatherproof display unit mounts to the rear view mirror bar and connects to a smartphone via Bluetooth® to provide turn-by-turn navigation. Its circular touchscreen is glove-friendly and the VIO has built-in GPS, acting as an extension to a connected smartphone.

Users benefit from many advanced features, including TomTom’s speed camera warning system and TomTom Traffic, which offers alternative routes in real time. There’s even caller display, so riders can see who’s trying to call them while on the move.

Using TomTom VIO allows riders to keep their smartphone safely tucked away in a pocket or in a storage compartment on the scooter. At the end of the journey, the compact touchscreen device can be quickly and easily un-clipped from the mirror mount and taken away by the owner until the next time it is needed.

Models covered:

  • PIAGGIO – X10 350/500, MP3 ABS (2014-on), MP3 Yourban (LT), Beverly 350 ST, Medley EU4, Liberty iGet, New Fly, Zip and Typhoon
  • VESPA – Sprint, Primavera, PX, GTS Super & Super Sport

Triumph announced their ground-breaking new Bobber in October 2016, using the massively popular T120 engine, but with a retro look and quality of styling rarely seen in a stock bike. The Bobber was an immediate hit with fans all over the world, and the launch was highly anticipated in 2017. As the day came around to unveil both the Bobber and the new Street Scrambler, Fowlers and Spoke & Stringer, a stylish surf and bike cafe in the Bristol harbour, got together to plan a launch event of a suitably cool calibre.

The entire Bonneville range was present on the night, showing off Triumph’s current range to its best – in addition to a handpicked selection of Triumph-branded clothing and accessories. Spoke & Stringer provided a delicious buffet – moroccan street food, rich coffees and a great selection of artisan beers and ales. Around 140 guests attended, and quickly packed out the small cafe.

The unveiling was preceded by a short video, showing the Bobber and Street Scrambler gliding through sun-kissed gorges – a bit of a contrast to the cold and darkness falling outside! The finale was heralded by the roaring of both bikes’ engines, and the Street Scrambler and iconic Bobber came thundering into the crowd, through the front doors, to take pride of place in the lobby.

Seats were sat on, details admired and lots of selfies taken – cementing the Bobber and the Street Scrambler as another two fantastic additions to the Triumph Bonneville stable.

Photos from the event are below – if you’re interested in any of the Triumph Bonneville range, including the new Bobber and Street Scrambler, please get in touch with Fowlers Triumph on 0117 977 0466.

The Yamaha YBR125 has been the gold standard in commuter motorbikes since its introduction in 2005. Reliable, economical to run, with a low seat height to accommodate all riders – a success around the world. Today Yamaha have announced its successor, to bring the trusty machine into 2017 – the YS125.

The front cowl has been redesigned, as has the seat, and the half-fairings given a facelift too. The instrument cluster has been brought up-to-date, with a digital LCD display now showing the rider all they need to know. A new Unified Braking System (UBS) means braking is smooth and controlled, and the engine has been refined to Euro 4 emissions standards too. Available in red, black and white, there’s a YS125 for every taste!

Bristol Post have reported that motorcycle theft has been on the rise in the past few months, with an increase in crime in the south of Bristol especially. No-one wants to leave home in the morning to see their pride and joy has been stolen, so take this opportunity to secure your machine!

We offer a complete range of security devices at Fowlers, from small disc locks that can be carried in your bag or under a seat, to more heavy-duty chains and ground anchors.

A disc lock is often the most cost-effective option, offering some protection from thieves by attaching to your front brake disc. A reminder cable is a good idea too, to make sure you don’t ride away with the lock still on! The Gear Gremlin Tempest disc lock is an ideal solution at only £29.99 – and don’t forget a reminder cable!

The most secure option is a ground anchor and thick, heavy chain. Buy the most expensive chain you can, with a sturdy padlock (with a contained bar if possible). A ground anchor can be fixed into concrete, and your chain firmly attached to it. Always pass your chain through the rear wheel, and if possible, the frame of your bike. The Gear Gremlin ground anchor, at £40.00, can be paired with a Nimrod chain and lock for £64.99.
