Pothole
This Thursday, 15th January, the award winning website Street Repairs is launching the first National Pothole Day.

The site allows users to report potholes and check if other residents are complaining about similar issues. National Pothole Day aims to unite local communities and put additional pressure on local councils to resolve the expanding backlog of road repair requests.

Growing frustration with the state of Britain’s roads has been widely reported by the media in recent months with FOI requests providing an array of shocking statistics. Information gathered by The Press Association claims Leeds City Council have between £90 – £100 million pounds worth of repairs outstanding, with Gloucestershire and Oldham City Councils closing following as the second and third worst offenders respectively.

As Motorcyclists, we hold more grudges against potholes than most and wish Street Repairs the best of luck with what we only hope will become an annual event.

Statistics released today reveal that during 2014 over 100,000 new motorcycles, scooters and mopeds were registered in the UK. This equates to a 10% increase when compared to the same figure published in 2013.

The information, which was collated by the Motorcycle Industry Association (MCIA), also uncovered that ‘Naked Bikes’ had the most dramatic sales increase, up 32% on the previous year. So, who’s buying new bikes?

Recent Government statistics show the number of licensed motorcycle, scooter and moped users is at its highest figure for 5 years at a staggering 1,326,500. This proves it’s not just old bikers adding to their collections but more likely fresh faced motorcyclists joining the community.

Printing Your Dream Bike!

By Fowlers News

Honda CB500 by Jonathan Brand

Do you ever think about that dream motorbike you just can’t have? Jonathan Brand doesn’t!

The American artist, who had previously created an entire Mustang coupe out of printed and folder paper, has now 3D printed his dream bike.

Brand had planned on purchasing 1972 Honda CB500 but due to the birth of his son, was unable to. Being a 3D printing guru, he didn’t give up on getting his new toy and painstakingly printed the bike. Using translucent biodegradable plastic Jonathan Brand pieced together the classic Honda to create a truly one of a kind piece of art.
